New guide for firework displays

The HSE has produced a new edition of its guide to safety for firework display organisers and operators, in advance of Bonfire Night on 5 November. The latest edition of the publication, entitled Working Together on Firework Displays, has been updated to include significant changes in the law relating to the supply, possession, transport, keeping and use of fireworks which may have an effect on the way in which displays are organised and fired. The book covers key legislation including the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005, the Firework Regulations 2004 and the Firework (Safety/Amendment) Regulations 2004. The book is aimed at competent display operators and organisers. It does not cover displays where the fireworks are to be fired by people without specialist knowledge or training. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/fireworks1.htm
