CALL TO THE EU TO ADDRESS DISPROPORTIONATE ADMINISTRATIVE BURDENS AND LEGAL GAPS IN CONTEXT OF POSTING OF WORKERS

Posted by Liz Marshall on

Pearle*- Live Performance Europe addresses the EU with a call to find solutions to the disproportionate administrative burdens that the sector is confronted with when touring in the EU. The enforcement rules aimed at tackling abuse and fraud results in cumbersome procedures and overly administrative burdens compared to the very short duration of a tour abroad.

Pearle* therefore calls for lighter regimes and exemptions for very short term posting so that the sector can continue to circulate culture and perform at venues, in theatres and at festivals in a manageable way. In addition it is crucial that Member States provide all necessary information for every sector in at least one other foreign language on their web portals. Pearle* also calls the EU to develop user-friendly tools to comply with administrative obligations.

Finally, Pearle* members also call to address legal gaps in the legislation on social security and posting in order to provide more legal certainty and to find solutions for situations of high mobility.
