On Monday 26th February, we convened our Annual General Meeting (AGM), and for those who were unable to attend, I'm pleased to provide a summary of the key points discussed.
Firstly, we are currently in the fortunate position of having funds available for allocation towards meaningful initiatives. If you have any suggestions that would benefit our members, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at gm@psa.org.uk, and we will ensure your proposals are brought before the council for consideration.
Our commitment to serving and supporting our members remains steadfast, and this is exemplified through our participation in various other associations. Notably, we are proud members of LIVE (Live Music Industry Venues & Entertainment), which serves as the authoritative voice for the UK's live music and entertainment sector. LIVE actively advocates for the interests of live music within the UK, engaging with government bodies, policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders. Currently, one pressing issue facing LIVE is navigating the challenges of working within the EU, particularly in light of the new 90-day limit.
In addition to our involvement with LIVE, we collaborate closely with BVEP and Power of Events, recognising the significance of our representation in these forums.
Furthermore, I wish to reiterate our partnership with Stagehand, our charity initiative. In times of unforeseen adversity, such as injury, illness, or unexpected career changes, Stagehand provides essential support. Depending on individual circumstances, Stagehand may offer modest grants to assist with immediate needs or facilitate retraining opportunities. While it is not intended to replace insurance coverage, Stagehand serves as a valuable resource for our members in times of need.
For those seeking more detailed information regarding the AGM proceedings or financial matters, please do not hesitate to contact us at gm@psa.org.uk.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our association. Together, we strive to uphold our mission and enhance the welfare of all our members.
Warm regards,
Dave Keighley
General Manager and Chairman
