PSA Training Bursary


The Production Services Association Training Bursary

Claim 25% of course costs up to a maximum of £250.

We asked what you wanted from your PSA membership and many of you said access to more training opportunities. We heard you and have set up a new bursary scheme, exclusively for members, to help cover some of your training costs. 

The PSA bursary scheme exists to support you, our members who wish to strengthen skills, broaden awareness or increase their employment opportunities within live events and production. 

If you have a course you really want to take, the PSA will support you achieve your goal. 

If you are not sure what options are available, visit our training pages where there are details of several courses which may inspire you. Other industry courses can also be taken. 

The application process is simple – just complete this form with your information and details of the course you wish to book. We will cover 25% of the costs up to the value of £250 per course, so on receipt of your confirmation email, book your course and send us proof of completion afterwards and we will reimburse the agreed amount. 

Once your application has been completed, you are more than welcome to apply again. We have an initial fund of £25,000 and all applications are subject to availability of funds.

The (not so) Small Print

  • Qualifying courses align with members' roles and skills. For example:
    • Lighting, sound, rigging, AV, SFX, staging and automation systems training, integral to your work in the industry.
    • Educational courses in computer aided design, project management or software tools e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, or presentation apps.
    • Plant tickets including telehandler and IPAF.
    • Accredited safety training by recognised industry bodies.
    • Nationally recognised UK physical or mental health training.
  • Anything else you suggest, we will review for suitability.
  • The total fund is £25,000 for 2025. This is ringfenced and allocated on a first come, first served basis (applications will be processed in order received).
  • There's a contribution limit of 25% of the course price, up to £250 max per application.  You can apply to the fund more than once, after each course has been completed.
  • Your course must start after the date you submit your bursary application.
  • The email address on your application needs to match the one on your PSA membership.
  • Bursary payment is made following successful completion of the course.
  • We will need to see a copy of the invoice and qualification certificate as proof.

The Smaller Print

  • In applying for this bursary, you consent to your personal data relevant to this application being processed by the PSA and shared with specific partners necessary for the processing and administration of your application.
  • Fund donors will receive anonymised data on types of courses undertaken.
  • Your application is reviewed by volunteers of the PSA council, so approval and your confirmation of award email may take a short while to come to you.
  • We will strive to respond to all applications within one week.
