BRITANNIA ROW PRODUCTIONS TRAINING ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF ITS 3 YEAR BSc HONS DEGREE IN LIVE SOUND PRODUCTION together with other courses scheduled for 2016.

3 YEAR BSc Hons DEGREE COURSE - SEPTEMBER 2016

This unique degree will give students an intense and comprehensive guide to everything they need to prepare themselves for a career in live sound production.

This programme has been developed from a long period of discussion and planning between Britannia Row Productions Training and South Thames College. The Course will be run by South Thames College with Britannia Row Production Training industry professionals delivering the master class lectures throughout the course. The degree course is being is being validated by the University of Northampton. Validation is scheduled for the end of March 2016. Student loans of up to £9,000 per year are available for the course to meet course fees. Students can apply now for places on the course which will commence in September 2016 through UCAS or directly to South Thames College.

Course places are available, subject to course validation, but if the UCAS deadline is missed , would-be students can apply directly to the college.

The Course is intended to offer students the opportunity to not only experience our programme as a live brief, but to enable them to collate a portfolio of work to make graduates immediately employable within their own network of contacts by exit at Level 6, while expanding their own academic disciplines. By combining main stream higher education with industry, we offer students the opportunity to obtain this BSc Hons degree while spending three years with leading sound engineers and specialist technicians giving them the opportunity to establish a network of industry contacts by the end of your course. We believe that this course is highly unique and relevant to live sound the industry. As employers we have a good insight into what employers are looking for when they recruit and what they will be looking for in the future.

When we launched Britannia Row Productions Training and our first short training courses in the summer of 2013, the thought of us building up to a degree course was a hopeful dream that maybe lay ahead somewhere in the dim and distant future. South Thames College and the University of Northampton who both really got behind our belief that this degree in live sound is needed and long overdue and would be at its best and most relevant by partnering with Britannia Row Productions Training. I believe that this BSC Hons Degree Course in Live Sound Production will be the most relevant and focused training for anyone wanting to have the best of starts in the live sound industry

LIVE SOUND FUNDAMENTALS COURSE - MARCH 2016

The next part time Live Sound Fundamentals Course commences on Saturday 5th March 2016 and will run every Saturday thereafter for 16 weeks with only a break for the Easter weekend.

The course teaches entry level fundamentals for those wanting to work in Live Sound as semi- professionals, or in a local venue or small sound or AV company.

It is taught over fifteen 1 Day Sessions on consecutive Saturdays plus an assessment on week 16. Each session can be taken as an individual stand-alone module for those wanting to brush-up on a particular subject but to get the best from this course it is recommended that the whole course is taken.

Apart from gaining holistic training, other advantages of taking the whole course are –

LIVE SOUND INTERMEDIATE COURSE - MARCH 2016

The next part time Live Sound Intermediate Course commences on Sunday 6th March 2016 and will run every Sunday thereafter for 16 weeks, with a break only for the Easter weekend.

The Live Sound Intermediate Course is ideal for those who have taken the Live Sound Fundamentals Course and have subsequently had a few months working experience and wish to go onto the next level or, for those that have gained their knowledge from some hands on live sound experience and feel that they cannot move further forward without some training to get to the next level. It is designed to take participant from entry through to professional levels.

As with the Live Sound Fundamentals Course, the Intermediate Course is taught over fifteen 1 Day Sessions on consecutive weekends on a Sunday plus assessment on the 16th week. Each session can be taken as an individual stand-alone module for those wanting to brush-up on a particular subject, but to get the best from this course it is recommended that the whole course is taken.
