Last year’s Backup Village Fete was an amazing day. This year its back with a new location, a fresh new look and feel, even more ways to get involved, and there is still time to secure your place and be part of what is shaping up to be an even bigger, bolder and even better event. For those already booked in, make sure you bring colleagues, clients, and friends along to enjoy the day and join in on the action.
There are still a few of the ever-popular karting spots available, but if racing is not your thing, the line-up has been expanded with new ways to take part. “This year we’re introducing both team and individual entries for The Sporting Pass Challenge, which is a chance to test your inner gamekeeper with axe throwing and clay pigeon shooting,” says Backup Chair, Lee Dennison. “It’s perfect for those with a sharp eye, a steady hand, and perhaps just a hint of landed gentry in the bloodline - tweed is optional but encouraged.”
For those making the journey and wanting to make even more of it, Backup will be co-hosting an evening event supported by PLASA at a local hostelry, with drinks and food included in the ticket price, and all proceeds going to Backup. Further information will follow soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
There will also be familiar favourites including a newly revamped 5 Star Cases Flight Case Challenge, the ever-competitive Veg Off, the always-impressive Bake Off, Best Dressed Villager and, back by popular demand, the DJ Off.
“This is not just another industry event,” Lee adds. “It’s a chance for industry friends to get together, enjoy a genuinely fun day out, support an important cause, and be part of something people will be talking about long after the Fete is over.”
