The Entertainment Technology Industry Alliance will actively contribute to the work of the newly created ISO Technical Committee 354 “Events” which is developing a comprehensive, internationally harmonized standards framework specifically for the events and entertainment industry.
The scope of ISO/TC 354 covers the performing arts, cultural and cultural heritage events, music and festivals, trade shows and exhibitions, sporting events, corporate and business events, as well as other arts and cultural events. It encompasses the entire professional ecosystem surrounding the planning, delivery, and follow-up of events.
In terms of content, ISO/TC 354 addresses a broad range of subject areas, including event management and governance, technical infrastructure, safety and security concepts, visitor and crowd management, supply chains, IT and data management, environmental and sustainability management, occupational health and safety, risk and resilience management, and aspects of the circular economy.
For industry stakeholders, this new structure provides enhanced international coordination and a clearer positioning as an independent economic sector.
As a recognised liaison organisation, ETIA now has the opportunity to actively participate in the future development of international standards and contribute its expertise to relevant ongoing work items. Through this engagement, ETIA will support the sustainable development of the global events sector.
