Where do you work?
Director and Co-founder of NoNonsense Group, an award winning international staging and temporary structures company.
What do you love about the event production industry?
The people are incredible and never cease to amaze me, seeing audiences delight in the experiences created by teams of talented, exceptional people is a joy and the reason why I could never leave the industry that has been my home for more than 30 years.
How long have you been a PSA member? Tell us about your experience as a board/council member.
I have been a PSA member for more than 20 years, NoNonsense Group has been a member since its inception 15 years ago. I have been on council since 2011 and co-chair for 2 years alongside Tom Rees
Since being part of the council, I have really appreciated the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes by dedicated individuals that just want to make the industry better for everyone.
It's an honour to be able to work with the team, our amazing partners and collaborators to support the industry as a whole on behalf of the members
What are your goals for the PSA this year?
To encourage more members to use the training bursary - it's a great benefit, whether you are looking to enhance your skills or renew plant tickets, we are here to support you and the application process is so simple.
We always want to grow the membership to give us a louder voice to campaign for change, to support the industry and to support new talent for future generations
Why is it important for you to be part of the PSA council?
I have had such an incredible journey throughout my career due to the amazing people I have worked with and the invaluable mentorship I have received. Having experienced so many 'pinch me' moments over the years, I feel compelled to give back to the industry, to ensure that countless others will be able to enjoy creating memories for many more years.
What is your advice to new members?
You get out of life what you put into it, and the same applies to the PSA membership. Get involved, have your say, make new contacts, enhance your skills and enjoy all the benefits that membership has to offer...whether you are freelance or a business...your voice is important...the council are here to help and support you.
