We have formed a new strategic partnership with PIPA (Parents and Carers in Performing Arts) to support parents and carers working in the production industry. Through this collaboration, PSA aims to amplify PiPA's message that parents and carers are an asset to the industry in all roles.
PIPA (Parents and Carers in Performing Arts) exists to support all parents and carers in the performing arts and creative industries. Traditionally it can be challenging to balance a successful career and the needs of life at home, alongside the impact on mental and physical health that these responsibilities may have. As a strategic partner, the PSA will work alongside PiPA to develop new approaches and ways of thinking, and assist our members in understanding their rights in the workplace and what support is available to them.
"We are really pleased to join forces with PiPA as a strategic partner. It is so important that the live production industry and the creative industries as a whole ensure that there are stable career pathways for parents and carers, and that barriers to this are identified and removed. As an association, we want to amplify the PiPA message that parents and carers are an asset, and ensure that our members have access to advice and support to navigate workplace challenges, address discrimination and balance careers with family responsibilities.” says Hannah Ratcliffe, General Manager - PSA.
"'Live production is a huge part of the UK performing arts sector. There are technical production professionals across the UK for whom unpredictable schedules, long hours and irregular working patterns are a constant challenge. This can be especially overwhelming when you are a parent, have caring responsibilities or are planning a family. PiPA is here for the full spectrum performing arts professionals and we are excited to expand our work in the technical production side of the sector through this partnership with PSA. Parents and carers are vital to the future of the live production sector, and together with the PSA, we’re committed to creating working cultures where talent can thrive at every stage of life.” says Cassie Raine, Co-CEO, PiPA (Parents and Carers in Performing Arts)
