Help inspire the next generation of event professionals with PSA
PSA members are invited to take part in The Power of Events’ Experience of Work programme, opening your doors to help young people discover the people, skills and careers behind the UK Events Industry.
The mission is simple: to turn curiosity about events into meaningful experience, broaden young people’s aspirations and help build a more diverse future workforce.
Experience of Work follows on from The Power of Events’ Schools Engagement Programme. Having first explored the industry through an ambassador-led session at school, young people can then see it in action through a structured half-day or full-day visit to a local business. For PSA members, this could mean introducing pupils to a warehouse, production team or technical workplace or even taking them onsite for a build or live event experience, combining practical activities with conversations about career routes.
Support to make taking part straightforward
Businesses do not need to design an experience from scratch. The Power of Events team provides onboarding, planning support and a practical Toolkit to help you develop an experience suited to your business, facilities and capacity.
Support includes school coordination, activity ideas, templates, safeguarding and risk-assessment guidance, accessibility considerations, and feedback and reflection. Delivery takes place within established Schools Engagement Programme regions, keeping opportunities local and accessible, including for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
What does it cost, and how can members access funding?
The programme cost is £35 per young person, per experience. This funds The Power of Events’ coordination and support, including the Toolkit, delivery resources, guidance, school liaison and impact measurement, alongside the programme’s ongoing development.
PSA has pledged funded a pool of places to help members participate. Interested members should contact Hannah first to discuss their proposed experience and access to the PSA allocation. Once funding has been agreed, members will be connected with The Power of Events team to develop their plans and coordinate the next steps.
Whether your business can welcome a small group or host a larger experience, sharing what you do could help a young person discover a future they had never considered.
