On 23rd June 2025, The Rt Hon Lisa Nandy MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, published the government's plan to support the growth and development of the UK's creative industries.
The plan highlights the 2.4m jobs and £124 billion GVA already contributes to the UK economy, and recognises the fast growth of greative genres like podcasts, streaming, social media and online news outlets.
Over the next 10 years, the government promises an investment of £350M in the creative industries, split across skills development, relief for technical innovators, development of new and existing creative trade routes, focus on regional clusters and identifying and supporting fronteir industries like gaming and social media content greation.
